Games are all about PLAY! But the art of making something playable in a game jam is sometimes intimidating. How the hell are you supposed to make anything in such a short time?

Make it small, dumb, weird, bad and silly.

If you're feeling lost ask one of the many experienced super-friends hanging around. We can help find you a team of like minded weirdos to play with.

Here are some roles you could help with!

I wanna talk to this person across the room but they are scary and look busy.

RIGHT! They are terrifying. Well maybe they aren’t but it sure feels that way sometimes. Thing is, we are all here to meet and hang out with new faces. Maybe they are just really excited about what they are doing. So go ask them about it! You can probably help, and they are gonna be stoked you showed interest!

I’m a crafty smarty. Glue guns, scissors and sewing is my sort of fun.

There are always decorations to make for the SFA parties and often you will find a unit of craftspeople kicking ass. There are also a whole bunch of weird game controllers that could do with your skills! You don't need to know electronics or programming to get involved.

I wanna make music and sound effects

You’re a much needed hero. Ask around who wants some audio. You will have plenty takers 🙂 It doesn’t need to be amazing or even good. Weird is good remember!

I like writing stories and playing with words

There are a number of text based adventure experts who can guide you through making your own story, or help you find a team that's already doing it! Ask around!

Give me something to draw on and ill see you in a couple hours

Literally shout WHO NEEDS ART. and you will get a whole bunch of people shouting back:

”WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING”

“WOULD YOU LIKE THAT WITH OR WITHOUT MILK”

Then leave the coffee shop and go to an SFA jam. Try that there and you will find a lot of people looking for awesome artists such as yourself! 🙂
